When you connect third-party services (for example, Slack, Linear, GitHub, or Google Calendar) we receive the data that those providers make available through their APIs. We only request the scopes needed to deliver Trail's features, and we store access tokens securely using industry-standard encryption.

We also collect limited technical information automatically when you use the Service, including IP address, browser type, device information, and usage logs. This data helps us operate, secure, and improve Trail.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to provide and maintain the Service, personalize your experience, communicate with you, and develop new functionality. We may send you operational emails, announcements, or product updates. You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time.

We analyze aggregated, de-identified usage data to understand how people use Trail and to make the product better. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not train external machine learning models on your Customer Data.

4. Data Retention and Security

We retain Customer Data for as long as you maintain an active Trail account or as needed to provide the Service. When you disconnect an integration or delete your account, we delete or anonymize related data within a reasonable period unless we are required to keep it for legal, regulatory, or security purposes.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular reviews of our security practices. No system can be 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.

You can update most account information from within Trail. To request deletion of your account or to access, correct, or export Customer Data, contact us at hello@trail.app. Certain requests may require us to verify your identity.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under local laws (for example, GDPR or the CCPA). We honor those rights and will work with you to fulfill any applicable requests. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16, and Trail is not directed to children.

Trail is based in the United States and processes information in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate. When we transfer data across borders, we implement safeguards designed to protect your information in accordance with applicable law.
